The season is over

Now, this year's season on Inlandsbanan is closed. We can look back on a good summer, with many passengers on board our trains. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to make the journey on Inlandsbanan to an experience.

Now we will start planning for next season that will begin the 4th of June next year. A new timetable will be published in autumn. Programs and prices for our packages will also be published then. Even next year we will offer our popular package with Inlandsbanan & Hurtigruten. We will of course also offer our other packages such as Discover Inlandsbanan and The Soul of Lapland. Book early, you can already now contact us for a preliminary booking.

We also plans to run some vinter tours in the end of January and beginning of March. Keep check the homepage for program and prices.

Orsa Järnvägsförening to OrsaYran

Go with nostalgic railcars to Orsayran - a crazy music festival!

Experience when hundreds of musicians armed with everything from triangles to bagpipes descend on Orsa's streets for four Wednesdays in July and one in August.

Wednesdays, from 6th of July until 3rd of August you can go by train from Mora to Orsa. With your Inlandsbanan Card it is free!

Extra traffic in July

Today our traffic starts from Kristinehamn and Mora and also our extra tour from Mora to Storuman.  

No traffic on Midsummer

On 24/6--25/6 we have  no traffic on Inlandsbanan. We start again as usual on sunday morning. The booking office opens at 6.45. If you want to order a catalogue, please use the link on the left.

Booking during the weekend

Our ticketoffice is closed over the weekend. It is however possible to buy the ticket directly on board the train (no creditcard, only cash)  

We open the office as usual again on monday morning (06:45) and then it is possible to preebook tickets again for the remaining weeks of our season.

Winter on Inlandsbanan

Finally it is time for a winter journey on Inlandsbanan. In the winter you have the opportunity for a journey that will take you north through the winter landscape of inland Sweden before you cruise back south along the Norwegian coast on Hurtigruten. The journey takes place during one of the most beautiful periods of winter when the days have begun to lengthen. You will travel far enough north to experience the northern lights – if luck is on your side.

Inlandsbanefestivalen

Last years success – the Music festival ”Inlandsbanefestivalen” is back!

With artists along and from Inlandsbanan… and more far away. The festival started already in 1990 but for another purpose – saving Inlandsbanan. At that time the festival where held in Arvidsjaur for two days and different bands performed. To last year’s 100 years anniversary at Inlandsbanan the festival had a reunion then as a “travelling festival”. Almost 25 artists participated and off course they were travelling with Inlandsbanan to the different places where they were playing. At several times they played at the food stops for the travellers with Inlandsbanan and now they are back! This time they will also play along the south stretch of Inlandsbanan. You don’t want to miss this potpourri of music – from folk music to blues & rock!

Timetables to the Biathlon are now ready!

Inlandsbanan/Grand Nordic will be operating World Championship trains during the Biathlon World Championships in Östersund 9–17th February 2008. The railcars will operate a return service on the routes Storuman–Östersund, Sveg–Östersund and Åre–Östersund on each day of competition. We will arrive in Östersund in time to see the events and will leave after the prize-giving ceremonies.
