| In Orsa you travel through four climatezones, from a gentle, undulatingcultural landscape with a view by Lake Orsasjön and Lake Siljan to barren wilderness with bogs and mountains in the northern parts. There are a number of good reasons to stop over in Orsa. A meteorite strike 365 million years ago created a fantastic cultural landscape. Otherwise Orsa is best known for music and the Bear Park. Here you will find beautiful vistas, fantastic swimming and one of Europe’s most interesting zoos, unique for its large enclosures for Siberian tigers and polar bears, among others. For music lovers Orsa in the summer is an Eldorado with live music every day, culminating in the crazy street musician festival Orsayran. | |

| Did you know that … … Lake Orsasjön is part of the ”Siljan Ring” which was formed through a meteorite impact 365 million years ago. … musical all-rounder Kalle Moraeus also runs a wood products company, where he makes ”instrument cases” (transport boxes for musical instruments). … the sandy beach at Orsa Camping is around 800 metres long. |
| Highlight! Orsa camping, one kilometre from the railway station. Beautiful scenery with a festival stage, pretty view over lake Orsa, a sandy beach and meandering beach path. Good food and activities. A place to remember! |
